It’s helped me realize the power of habits and the long term effects of consistency (even if I’m still struggling with both lol).⠀⠀
There is one thing in this personal development journey that I just haven’t been able to embrace. Affirmations.⠀⠀
Not affirmations in and of themselves - but the TYPE of affirmations I see. I am strong. I am capable. I can do anything. I can raise my vibration.⠀⠀
I get the sentiment. Truly. And I love the intention. Because far to many of us believe lies about our value. But here’s where this falls short for me.⠀⠀
The truth for me is that I am none of those things.⠀⠀
I am weak. I am broken. I am fearful. I am a sinner. Apart from Christ.⠀⠀
You see, left on my own I am bound to self destruct.⠀⠀
But IN CHRIST ...⠀⠀
He’s strength is made perfect in my weakness.⠀⠀
I can do all things THROUGH HIM who gives me strength.⠀⠀
I am redeemed. Chosen. Set apart. Forgiven. Purposeful.⠀⠀
The world would have me believe everything I need is in me.⠀⠀
But I know it is he who lives in me that makes all things possible according to his will. My hope in developing Affirming Truths and the Who You Say I Am affirmation cards is that you will learn and deeply root the truth abut who you are in Christ - and then walk in freedom to all he has called you to
