EPISODE 9 - Identity Series: The Super Woman Complex. Part 2 of 4

Does this sound familiar - you run around trying to make sure everything is perfect?  The house is perfect. The kids are perfect. The marriage is perfect. Every holiday is a picture of perfection.  Or at least that’s what you're striving to create, or have others believe?

So many women are chasing the identity of Super Woman that they are missing out on this aspect of their TRUE identity in Christ.  Listen to find out what it is.

The Super Woman Complex is a Thief

Fruits of supower woman or super mom complex are:

  • Exhaustion
  • Resentment
  • Discontentment

We all want the best for our kids, but this complex is not altruistic. If you are pursuing the title of Super Woman or Super Mom, you are believing the lie that you have to earn your worth.

AKA - Savior Complex

You can’t be the savior to your kids. Jesus is. You can’t be all things to all people. God can. When you are pursuing super mom, you aren’t leaving God space to do His work.

When you try to be Super Mom or Super Woman, you will never measure up. This is the line of the Old law.

But the grace of God, but the blood of Jesus, overcomes earning your worth and you can rest in your identity as a daughter of the King.

The Bottom Line

Super woman is the enemy’s way of distracting you from being a Godly woman. It’s not your super abilities you need, it’s God’s super grace that you need.

Get familiar with the identity God is speaking over you. You don’t have to earn it, it’s already been won. He doesn’t call you to strive, he calls you to be still. He doesn’t call you to hustle, he calls you to abide.

Affirming Truth - My identity and worth is not found in my productivity, but in the fact that I am a child of God.
