S12.TRAILER | Nervous System Healing, Trauma & Faith for Christian Women
What if your struggle isn’t a lack of faith — but a nervous system stuck in survival?
In this Season 12 trailer of the Affirming Truths Podcast, Christian mental health coach Carla Arges shares the heart and direction of the upcoming season. Season 12 is for Christian women who feel emotionally overwhelmed, battle intrusive thoughts, wrestle with shame or people-pleasing, and long for healing that reaches the mind, body, and spirit.
This season will explore the nervous system through a biblical lens, trauma-informed healing, taking thoughts captive without spiritual bypassing, restoring worth through kingdom identity, and what the cross truly means for emotional and spiritual healing.
Carla also shares a personal invitation to Rooted & Resilient, a proven, Holy-Spirit-led healing program for Christian women. Enrollment is now open for a limited time.
Season 12 begins next Monday.
S11.BONUS 8 | From Triggered to Regulated: A Mom’s Testimony from Rooted & Resilient
IIn this bonus episode of Affirming Truths, Carla sits down with Kate to talk about what it was really like to go through Rooted & Resilient - and how it changed her motherhood. With two toddlers and a nervous system that felt “fried,” Kate shares how parenting began to expose old wounds, emotional triggers, and patterns she didn’t want to pass down to her kids.
Together, Carla and Kate unpack the shift from shame (“I’m failing”) to clarity (“I’m dysregulated”), why healing doesn’t mean never getting triggered, and how faith, nervous system tools, and daily rhythms can help you move through intense seasons with more steadiness. If you’re a mom who feels overstimulated, stuck in spirals, or desperate for answers, this conversation will remind you: there is hope, and you don’t have to do this alone.
S11.BONUS 7 | Feel & Function Well: A Christian Approach to Food, Movement, and Mood with Amy Connell
In this episode of Affirming Truths, Carla sits down with Amy Connell, host of the Graced Health Podcast, for a much-needed conversation about the intersection of mental health, nutrition, movement, and identity in Christ. Together, they address how deeply diet culture has shaped women’s relationship with their bodies - and how easily worth gets tangled up with the number on the scale, clothing size, and shifting cultural “ideals.”
From Carla’s nervous-system lens, they explore how things like under-eating, blood sugar swings, too much caffeine, poor sleep, and inactivity can shrink our window of tolerance - making emotional regulation harder than it needs to be. Amy offers practical guidance for balanced nutrition (without labeling foods “good” or “bad”), and explains why “fitness snacking” and small, consistent movement can be more beneficial - and more sustainable - than all-or-nothing workouts.
S11.BONUS 6 | How to Break the Cycle of Negative Thoughts and Overwhelm: Olivia’s Testimony
IIn this bonus episode of Affirming Truths, Carla Arges interviews Rooted & Resilient graduate Olivia, who shares what it looked like to walk through a “pit of depression” while trying to keep functioning in everyday life. Olivia describes months-long dips in mood, relentless negative thoughts about herself, and a deep sense of hopelessness - even though she’d grown up in the church and knew, in her head, that God offers hope.
Searching for support that combined neuroscience and Christianity, Olivia found Carla’s podcast and joined Rooted & Resilient. She opens up about how overwhelm and executive dysfunction (including ADHD traits) fueled avoidance patterns like doomscrolling and made her feel like she just needed “more discipline.” But through the program, she learned the difference between willpower and executive dysfunction - and discovered a grace-filled, sustainable way forward.
By the end of the 12 weeks, Olivia’s life looked completely different: waking up earlier with intention, daily Bible time and journaling, movement and stretching, cooking meals regularly, and - most noticeably - doomscrolling “naturally” falling away as her nervous system and mind became more regulated. This conversation is a hopeful reminder that transformation often comes through small, consistent practices, not perfection.
S11.BONUS 5 | Healing Isn’t the Absence of Pain: Ivanka’s Rooted & Resilient Testimony
In this special testimony episode of Affirming Truths, Carla Arges sits down with Rooted & Resilient graduate Ivanka to talk about what changed for her over 12 weeks of Christ-centered healing. Ivanka shares how a major breakup and years of mental health struggles left her stuck in fight-or-flight - exhausted, overwhelmed, and unsure what to do next.
Through the program, one message became a turning point: healing isn’t the absence of pain - it’s the presence of truth. Ivanka describes how rooted identity in Christ (Galatians 4:4–7) reshaped the way she understood her thoughts, emotions, and choices. Instead of being ruled by how she felt, she learned to acknowledge her emotions without letting them take the driver’s seat - choosing truth, renewing her mind (Romans 12:2), and building steady, sustainable practices that supported her whole person.
If you’ve ever wondered whether healing is possible when life is still hard, this episode will remind you: you can be in a storm and still be deeply grounded - because your foundation is Christ.
S11.19 | When the Year Has Been Hard: How to Step Into 2026 With Biblical Hope
As Season 11- and 2025 - comes to a close, this episode is for the woman who isn’t excited about a new year.
Maybe 2025 was marked by grief, disappointment, unanswered prayers, or deep exhaustion. Maybe you love God, but you’re tired of waiting- and you can’t yet see the light at the end of the tunnel.
In this final episode of the year, Carla offers a gentle, hope-filled reflection on how to step into 2026 without pretending things weren’t hard, and without pressuring yourself to have clarity, goals, or excitement. Rooted in Scripture, this episode provides practical ways to hold hope when circumstances haven’t changed and reminds you that God is still working, even here.
You’ll be encouraged to release control, anchor yourself in God’s character, and trust that the story isn’t over yet.
S11. BONUS 4 | Purpose Isn’t What You Do: Finding God’s Design with Jazmin Ruiz
What happens when trauma, mental illness, or burnout make you feel like your purpose has been taken from you?
In this bonus episode of Affirming Truths, Carla sits down with Christian mental health therapist, podcaster, and mom Jazmin Ruiz for a deeply grounding conversation about purpose - not as productivity, performance, or career, but as relationship.
Together, they explore why so many women feel aimless even when they’re “doing all the right things,” how trauma fuels control and self-reliance, and why Scripture calls us back to being with God before doing anything for Him. Jazmin shares both clinical insight and personal testimony, helping listeners redefine purpose through a biblical lens rooted in safety, security, and intimacy with the Lord.
If you’ve ever wondered whether your pain disqualified you from God’s plans - or felt lost in the fog of uncertainty - this episode will gently remind you that your purpose was never tied to what you produce, but to who you belong to.
S11.18 | When Christmas Feels Heavy: Encouragement for the Weary Christian Woman
Christmas is often painted as a season of joy, peace, and celebration - but for many women, it feels heavy instead.
If you’re walking through grief, loneliness, disappointment, burnout, or overwhelm this Christmas, this episode is for you. In today’s conversation, Carla offers gentle encouragement for the Christian woman who is struggling, reminding her that God does not ask for emotional performance - He offers His presence.
Together, we’ll explore how Christmas is not about perfection, but about Emmanuel - God with us - in the middle of our pain. You’ll be reminded that your struggle does not mean your faith is weak, your questions do not offend God, and your weariness does not disqualify you from rest.
S11.BONUS 3 | From Anxiety to Identity in Christ: Juliana’s Rooted & Resilient Transformation Story
IIn this special bonus episode, Carla sits down with Juliana - a Rooted & Resilient graduate - to share an honest, Christ-centered conversation about healing, emotional resilience, and breaking generational patterns.
Juliana opens up about her journey from overwhelming anxiety, perfectionism, and emotional shutdown to learning how to regulate her nervous system, rewrite lies with Scripture, and reconnect with God in a deeper way. She shares how discovering Affirming Truths at the perfect moment led her into a year of transformation through Carla’s programs, including Regulate Your Nervous System, Growing in God Confidence, and ultimately Rooted & Resilient.
Together, Carla and Juliana explore the connection between body and spirit, how physical pain impacts parenting, what inner child healing looks like in a Christian context, and why affirmations rooted in biblical truth can shift the entire trajectory of a woman’s mindset.
Juliana also speaks directly to anyone considering joining the next cohort of Rooted & Resilient - offering encouragement, honesty about the investment, and a powerful reminder that when God calls you into healing, He provides the way.
This episode will leave you hopeful, grounded, and reminded that Christ-centered healing doesn’t just change your life - it changes the generations that come after you.
S11.17 | When Everything Goes Wrong: Recognizing Spiritual Warfare and Standing Firm
In this raw episode, Carla opens up about the intense wave of challenges her family has faced - injuries, health scares, job loss, and even a basement flood - and how she has discerned that this season is more than coincidence. It’s spiritual warfare.
Carla shares how Scripture frames the battle we face, how to recognize when the enemy is attacking, and the practical ways Christian women can stand firm, steady their minds, regulate their bodies, and anchor themselves in the victory of Christ.
If you’re walking through a season that feels chaotic, heavy, or strangely targeted, this episode will remind you of the truth: you are not weak, you are not alone, and no weapon formed against you will prosper.
S11.16 | The Joy of the Lord Is My Strength: How to Find Joy in Hard Seasons
In this episode, Carla shares how she has been navigating a challenging season while many have asked how she continues to smile and show up with hope. Her answer is simple: it isn’t her strength - it’s the joy of the Lord.
Together, we explore what Scripture truly means by “the joy of the Lord,” why biblical joy is different from positivity or denial, and how joy strengthens us on a spiritual and neurological level. You’ll also learn practical, faith-rooted tools to cultivate the joy of the Lord in your daily life, especially in seasons of uncertainty or emotional heaviness.
If you’re carrying more than you know how to hold, this episode will help you discover that joy is not something you strive for - it’s something God imparts.
S11.15 | Life Update
In this update episode, Carla shares why she suddenly stepped away from the podcast these past few weeks - and how God has been meeting her in the middle of one of the most stretching seasons of her life. From her father’s dementia diagnosis, to family conflict, to her son’s emergency surgery and more, Carla opens up about the valleys she’s been walking through.
But woven through it all is one theme: God’s unshakeable goodness.
If you’ve been feeling overwhelmed, stretched thin, or unsure how to trust God when life keeps piling on, this tender and faith-filled episode will remind you that His character is steady even when circumstances are not.
S11.BONUS 2 | When Faith Meets Pain: How God Redeems Our Deepest Wounds with Hannah Hughes
In this powerful interview, Carla sits down with Hannah to talk about the raw, unfiltered process of healing from trauma, eating disorders, and deep emotional pain.
Hannah opens up about growing up in a Christian home, struggling silently with mental health, and the night she almost gave up hope. But God met her there - turning her pain into a story of redemption and purpose.
Together, Carla and Hannah unpack how faith and vulnerability intersect in healing, why honesty in prayer matters more than performance, and how hope can coexist with suffering.
If you’ve ever wondered where God is in your pain, this conversation will remind you that He’s right there with you
S11.14 | Living From Wholeness, Not For It
Are you exhausted from trying to fix yourself? So many Christian women on the healing journey are striving for wholeness—believing peace will finally come once they “get it all together.” But what if you could live from wholeness instead of constantly working for it?
In this episode of Affirming Truths, Christian Mental Health Coach Carla Arges shares how healing becomes lighter when we stop chasing worth and start living from our identity in Christ. Drawing from Colossians 2:10 and Ephesians 2:10, Carla shows that wholeness isn’t something you have to earn—it's already yours through Jesus.
If you’re tired of performing for peace, this episode will help you find rest for your soul and confidence in who God says you already are.
S11.13 | Does Lack of Healing Mean Lack of Faith? A Biblical Perspective
Have you ever been told that if you just had more faith, you’d be healed? This harmful message has left many believers struggling with guilt and shame, wondering if their faith is somehow “not enough.”
In this episode of Affirming Truths, Christian Mental Health Coach Carla Arges unpacks what Scripture actually says about healing and faith. From Paul’s unanswered prayer in 2 Corinthians 12 to the “heroes of faith” in Hebrews 11—many of whom never received their miracles on earth—we see that God’s grace, not the size of our faith, is the foundation of our healing.
Carla also explores how healing takes many forms: spiritual, emotional, and practical, often involving tools like therapy, medication, and community support. This episode is a powerful reminder that your healing journey does not disqualify your faith—it reveals God’s ongoing grace in your life.
S11.12 | Loaves and Fishes Faith: How God Multiplies What You Surrender
Do you ever feel like what you have to offer God is just too small? Maybe it’s your time, your finances, your energy, or even your faith. In this episode of Affirming Truths, Christian Mental Health Coach Carla Arges shares how God takes the little we place in His hands—our “loaves and fishes,” our “oil and flour”—and multiplies it into more than enough.
Drawing from the miracles of Scripture and her own life, Carla reminds us that before the miracle comes, there’s an invitation to surrender. What feels small in our eyes is often the very seed God uses to bring breakthrough. If you’ve been waiting on God for provision, healing, or direction, this episode will encourage you to take the step of faith and offer Him what you have today.
S11.11 | Why Did God Allow This? | Finding Faith in Suffering and Trauma
Have you ever found yourself asking, “Why did God allow this?” Whether you’re walking through grief, trauma, or unanswered prayers, this question can weigh heavy on your heart. In this episode of Affirming Truths, Christian Mental Health Coach Carla Arges reminds us that it’s okay to wrestle with God, but we don’t have to stay stuck in the “why.”
Through Scripture, encouragement, and her own experiences, Carla explores how God’s character never changes—even in suffering—and how shifting from “Why, God?” to “Where is God in this?” can bring peace, perspective, and healing. If you’ve ever felt buried by pain, this conversation will help you lean into trust and see God’s goodness in the midst of struggle.

If you’ve ever wondered how to see God’s goodness in the middle of heartbreak, this episode will encourage you to hold onto hope, embrace healing, and choose joy.

Drawing from Scripture, personal testimony, and the natural process of growth, Carla shares how the Lord transforms the dead and barren places of our lives into something beautiful and fruitful. You’ll learn why healing is seasonal—requiring planting, waiting, pruning, and then blooming—and how to partner with God in that process.
If you’ve been praying for breakthrough but feel stuck in a season of waiting, this episode will remind you of God’s promise: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19).
